Mateusz Dróżdż: Lokata, którą obecnie zajmujemy jest adekwatnie dobra. Prawda jest jednak taka, że gdyby nie wygrana z Legią, to bylibyśmy na 10. miejscu. Pomimo wszystko, o ile dobrze pamiętam, w dziewiętnastu meczach wygraliśmy 4 cztery razy. Decyzja w sprawie zakończenia współpracy z trenerem Dawidem Kroczkiem jest podjęta tylko i wyłącznie tym, że osiągaliśmy od listopada słabe w wyniki, a w przyszłym sezonie jest przed nami jasno postawiony cel – gra w europejskich pucharach.
Wracając jednak do pytania – czy przed sezonem wziąłbym szóste miejsce? Tak. Ale nawet mecz z Legią pokazał mi, że nie do końca wykorzystaliśmy nasz potencjał i podkreślę to jeszcze raz, że mówię w imieniu całego klubu, bo wygrywaliśmy razem i przegrywaliśmy razem.

Tak. Cały czas analizowaliśmy zespół.

Tak ważne decyzje zawsze są konsultowane z radą nadzorczą, z właścicielem. My w pionie sportowym o tym rozmawialiśmy. Decyzje w zakresie Cracovii podejmowane są wspólnie.
Jaką informację zwrotną usłyszał pan od trenera Kroczka?
Z trenerem przez ostatnie tygodnie tyle razy rozmawialiśmy, że zdawał sobie z tego sprawę. Sam dobrze to zdiagnozował na ostatniej konferencji – nasza forma i wyniki na wiosnę mówiły same za siebie. Każdy mocno to przeżywa, sam pamiętam po sobie chociażby z Zagłębia Lubin i Widzewa Łódź, że nie są to miłe chwile, kiedy człowiek podchodzi pod sektor ze łzami w oczach i żegna się z klubem. Po ludzku, również to bardzo przeżywam.
Złapaliśmy z trenerem Kroczkiem dobry kontakt, wiele mi pomógł, myślę że ja też przyczyniłem się w jakimś stopniu do jego rozwoju. Robiłem wszystko, co mogłem, aby wyjść z tego kryzysu wspólnie. To dobry trener i jeżeli kiedyś będzie możliwość, chciałbym jeszcze z nim współpracować.
To nie są łatwe decyzje. Dla mnie osobiście to bardzo trudna sprawa, bo czuję się za to współodpowiedzialny. Jeszcze raz podkreślę, że Cracovia miała kryzys w drugiej rundzie z wielu przyczyn, które się nałożyły na siebie.
Która decyzja była dla pana trudniejsza – zatrudnienie trenera Kroczka w piekielnie ciężkim momencie sezonu czy jednak zwolnienie?
Zdecydowanie zwolnienie. Pierwsze rozmowy o tym, by rozważyć ewentualną zmianę na pozycji trenera pojawiły się po spotkaniu w Szczecinie (14 marca – red.). Zalecałem wówczas, by dać czas. I powiem szczerze – nie chciałem tego robić. Gdybyśmy zagrali trzy mecze wcześniej, albo nawet dwa jak z meczu z Legią – mógłbym się „czegoś złapać”, miałbym argument, że zaraz wyjdziemy z kryzysu – to decyzja mogłaby być inna.
Ale powtórzę – nasz cel w przyszłym sezonie jest jasno wyznaczony. Nie mamy marginesu błędu i dotyczy to wszystkich pracowników klubu.
Jak skomentowałby pan teorię, że nieprzedłużanie umowy z trenerem jest pośrednim wskazywaniem winnego, by to na nim skupiła się uwaga?
Zdecydowanie tak nie jest. Razem wygrywamy, razem przegrywamy. Nie jest tak, że trener Kroczek jest głównym winowajcą tej sytuacji. Wykonał kawał dobrej roboty, zostawił zespół w lepszej kondycji, ale też nie ma co ukrywać, wiosna w naszym wykonaniu była bardzo słaba, poniżej założeń które sobie wyznaczyliśmy i związanych z tym nakładów.
Chcieliśmy spokojnie podjąć decyzję, bazowaliśmy na liczbach i danych. Tak jak mówiłem – gdybyśmy mogli zespół jeszcze dłużej budować na europejskie puchary, to być wszystko potoczyłoby się inaczej.
Uważa pan, że timing decyzji był odpowiedni? Być może należałoby się wstrzymać do końca sezonu z informacją.
Taka była prośba trenera. Mieliśmy z trenerem umowę, że ostateczna decyzja zapadnie po meczu w Katowicach i natychmiast ją ogłosiliśmy.
Gdyby prezes jakiegoś klubu z Ekstraklasy czy 1. Ligi zgłosił się do pana o rekomendacje trenera Kroczka, to co by pan powiedział?
To dobry trener. Wszystko oczywiście zależy od stylu gry, jaką preferuje dany zespół i celów wyznaczonych na kolejny sezon.
Dawidowi Kroczkowi jestem bardzo wdzięczny. Jeśli chodzi o jego pomysł na piłkę, to był on na pewno najlepszy pod kątem walki o utrzymanie. Lepiej nie mogliśmy wtedy trafić. Zapewnił nam, wraz ze sztabem, pozostanie w lidze.
Jak będzie wyglądał sztab na nowy sezon?
To już kwestia nowego trenera, jak będzie chciał sobie to poukładać. Toczymy rozmowy. Jest czterech kandydatów, których mocno rozważamy. Nie jest prawdą, że już wybraliśmy nowego trenera. Odbywamy rozmowy, oczywiście pozostaje też kwestia rozmów z właścicielem, radą nadzorczą. Każdy trener jest dokładnie sprawdzany przez dział analizy.
Mamy swoje założenia co do szerokości sztabu szkoleniowego, ale wychodzę z założenia, że jeżeli mam trenera rozliczać za coś, to musi mieć swobodę w wyborze sztabu.
Pozostajecie elastyczni.
Pewne rzeczy rekomendujemy, ale przede wszystkim staramy się zapewnić komfort pracy. Tak było w przypadku trenera Kroczka i tak będzie przy wyborze nowego szkoleniowca.
Gdyby udało nam się porozumieć z dyrektorem Arturem Płatkiem zimą, czego byliśmy blisko, to decyzja dotycząca trenera i sztabu mogłaby być inna.
Jakie cechy powinien mieć nowy trener Cracovii?
My jako klub musimy sobie wytworzyć pewną cechę – uwierzyć w to, że możemy grać o najwyższe cele. Tu jest wszystko zapewnione, by o to grać. Czas najwyższy, by to zrozumieć. Jeśli ktoś dochodzi do wniosku, że tu jest przyjemnie, trochę zarobię i jakoś to będzie – to dla kogoś takiego nie ma miejsca. Jako klub funkcjonujemy w niektórych obszarach już na bardzo wysokim poziomie, niektóre warunki są wręcz idealne jak na polskie realia.
Cracovia jest szczególnym miejscem. Kibice bardzo oczekują wyników, choćby ze względów historycznych. Po tym sezonie źle się z tym czuję, już nawet nie jako prezes, ale tak po ludzku, że jesienią rozbudziliśmy emocje, a wiosną nie sprostaliśmy. To nie chodzi o nakładanie presji, ale zrozumienie, że Cracovia ma walczyć o jak najwyższe cele.
Stać nas na to, uważam też, że też trzeba tego wymagać. Uwzględniając możliwości oraz sytuację, jakie mogą się pojawić w przyszłości, trzeba wytworzyć w Cracovii nareszcie poczucie, że to klub nie przeciętny, a walczący o ambitne cele, które może zrealizować.

Chce pan być kojarzony z sukcesem i wielką Cracovią.
To nie ja jestem tutaj ważny, a klub. To nie jest spektakl jednego aktora. Chcę, by uwierzono, że nie ma różnicy między nami a innymi klubami, mówię na przykład o Rakowie Częstochowa. Myślę, że mamy lepsze warunki treningowe, większą bazę kibiców, ale oczywiście to nie buduje się w rok, czy nawet dwa. Musimy być pokorni, wiedzieć, ile pracy przed nami, ale mierzyć wysoko.
Ile jest prawdy w zainteresowaniu trenerem Dusanem Kerkezem?
Nazwiska się pojawiają – to naturalne. My robimy swoje i działamy według planu.
Ile jest prawdy w zainteresowaniu trenerem Janem Urbanem? Mam wrażenie, że to byłby wymarzony szkoleniowiec kibiców Cracovii.
Rozmawiamy z kilkoma trenerami, ale absolutnie nie jest jeszcze blisko finalizacji.
Patrząc szerzej, Cracovia jest swego rodzaju fenomenem. Od 2015 roku pracowało tutaj tylko trzech trenerów – Jacek Zieliński, Michał Probierz, Dawid Kroczek. I tak mówimy więc o sporej stabilizacji, porównując do innych klubów.
Bezczelnie powiem, że psuję tę statystykę, bo już drugi raz mi się zdarzyło rozstać z trenerem.
Zaczął pan pracę w Cracovii od zwolnienia trenera Zielińskiego…
…którego pracę naprawdę cenię. I widzę jej efekty w Koronie Kielce. Sam jestem ciekawy, co by było gdyby trener Zieliński miał warunki, jakie my mamy aktualnie zapewnione.
Porównywałem ostatnio liczby przygotowania motorycznego, Korona ma jedne z lepszych wyników w lidze. Rok temu u nas, za trenera Zielińskiego, były jedne z najgorszych. Jestem w piłce ponad 10 lat, zakończyłem współpracę z czterema trenerami, niestety dwa razy w Cracovii.
Wyniki motoryczne z pewnością wynikają nie tylko bezpośrednio z pracy pierwszego trenera, ale też sztabu. Trener Zieliński otoczył się innymi ludźmi w Kielcach niż w Krakowie.
Zgadza się. Tak jak mówiłem – trener Zieliński nie miał wtedy takich warunków, jakie są teraz w Cracovii. Nie ma nawet co tego porównywać.
Fredi Bobić w niedawnej rozmowie w Przeglądzie Sportowym mówił, że w Legii dojdzie nawet do 15 zmian w kadrze. Jest pan w stanie określić, jaka to będzie skala w Cracovii tego lata?
W Cracovii takiej rewolucji nie będzie. Oczywiście będzie wiele zależało od trenera i od tego, co się wydarzy w pionie sportowym. Zaznaczę od razu, że chciałbym by do klubu wrócili Jani Atanasov, Michał Rakoczy i Karol Knap. Żeby przyjrzał im się nowy trener i by zaczęli z czystą kartą.
Czy kibice muszą się obawiać, że Filip Rózga pożegna się z Cracovią tego lata?
Bardzo nam zależy, by pozostał w Cracovii na nowy sezon. Chcemy przedłużyć umowę, rozmawiamy od początku roku. Agent przedstawił swoje spostrzeżenie i pogląd. To będzie decyzja Filipa i jego rodziców i zapewne agencji. Jednak trzeba mieć z tyłu głowy, że Filip tego lata wyjedzie za granicę.
Za kogo jeszcze przyszły oferty?
Za dwóch zawodników. Ale nie ma jednak większych obaw co do rewolucji. Potrzeba nam mocnych transferów przychodzących, w tym zastępstwa dla Benjamina Kallmana. Ruchy będą też zależne od odejść zawodników.
Jak już przy nim jesteśmy – uważa pan, że Cracovia albo inny polski klub byłby go w stanie zatrzymać finansowo czy miał podjętą decyzję dotyczącą wyjazdu?
Teraz już mogę to przyznać, że rok temu nie zgodziłem się na transfer Bena do jednego z klubów Ekstraklasy. Usłyszałem wtedy od niego, że nie podpisze nowego kontraktu z Cracovią. To były ciężkie rozmowy, ale one były jeszcze przed sezonem. Ostatnio rozmawiałem z Benem o tym i rzuciłem, że chyba nie popełniliśmy błędu, co do tego, że został. Wygląda w tym sezonie świetnie, strzelił dla nas dużo ważnych goli.
Zimą pojawiła się oferta od jednego z polskich klubów, ale nie taka, jaka pojawia się w mediach. Nie chodziło o 1,5 mln euro. Ben dostał od nas rekordową ofertę kontraktu, ale czasami nie chodzi o finanse. Bardzo mu zależało, by grać w Niemczech. Bardzo się cieszę, że miałem takiego napastnika, że było mi danego takiego piłkarza oglądać w Cracovii.
Kallman podpisał kontrakt z Hannoverem 96
Być może zatrzymanie go zimą było błędem z perspektywy finansowej, ale z drugiej strony, kibice chodzą dla takich piłkarzy na stadiony. Po cichu liczyłem na to, że jeśli będziemy wysoko i wywalczymy europejskie puchary, to być może Ben zmieni decyzję.
Poszukiwanie nowego Kallmana będzie największym wyzwaniem tego lata?
To już jest rola działu skautingowego, by takie osoby znajdować. Wiedzieliśmy praktycznie rok, że Ben może nie przedłużyć kontraktu. Po to ściągnęliśmy chociażby Martina Mincheva, by była pewna opcja B.
Wszystkie działania transferowe zostaną podjęte po ogłoszeniu nowego trenera i z jego udziałem?
Tak jest. Tak też zawsze funkcjonowaliśmy. Żadna decyzja transferowa nie odbyła się poza wiedzą trenera. Pion sportowy nie zgodził się z trenerem tylko raz – w przypadku nieprzedłużenia umowy Patryka Sokołowskiego.
Trener Kroczek na konferencji przyznał, że sam rekomendował, by Patryk został w klubie.
Również podejmowałem rozmowy z Patrykiem Sokołowskim o przedłużeniu kontraktu na gorszych warunkach finansowych dla niego, ale nie zostały przyjęte, co było dla mnie zrozumiałe. Po konsultacji z pionem sportowym i upływie czasu uznaliśmy finalnie, że nie przedłużamy umowy, chociaż trener nie podzielał tej decyzji. Szanuję Patryka i cenię jego wkład w funkcjonowanie szatni i za to mu dziękuję.
Trzecim piłkarzem, którego pożegnacie jest Arttu Hoskonen. W jego przypadku głównie chodziło o częste urazy.
Nie mogę mieć nadzwyczajnych pretensji, natomiast myślę, że i on, i my, po prostu liczyliśmy na więcej.
Często pojawiają się takie głosy, że Cracovia potrzebuje piłkarzy, którzy się z tym klubem utożsamiają i którzy grali w pasiastych barwach, jak chociażby Kamil Pestka czy Mateusz Wdowiak. Jak pan to skomentuje?
Zdaję sobie sprawę i widzę po tym sezonie, że szatnia wymaga częściowej przebudowy pod względem – nazwijmy to – mentalnym. Ale przede wszystkim my potrzebujemy jakości. Pewnie inaczej wyglądalibyśmy, gdyby był z nami Mateusz Klich.
Jeśli chodzi o osobowości czy liderów, to przede wszystkim wynika z liczb. Do momentu, kiedy był zdrowy Kamil Glik, to wyglądaliśmy naprawdę dobrze. Później już była tendencja schodząca.
Jak pozbyć się łatki zespołu międzynarodowego? Ten temat często się przewija, że Cracovia potrzebuje większej liczby polskich zawodników.
Rozmawiamy z kilkoma Polakami. Mam wrażenie, że taka jest generalnie tendencja w Polsce, że niedługo większość klubów będzie miała mocno międzynarodowe szatnie. Dla mnie jednak najważniejsza jest jakość, nie paszport. Międzynarodowa szatnia wymaga jednak innego zarządzania, a szczególnie u nas jeżeli mamy 8-9 reprezentantów.
Czy rozmowy z Kamilem Glikiem były trudne?
Nie. Kamil podjął decyzję mimo znacznie gorszych warunków finansowych – to mówi samo za siebie. Całość rozmów z Kamilem zajęły nam dwie minuty.
Cracovia potrzebuje mocnych nazwisk. Kamil Glik zostaje, pozostaje pytanie – co z Mateuszem Klichem?
Bardzo mocno liczyliśmy, że uda nam się Mateusza pozyskać już pół roku temu. Czy jest to wciąż możliwe? Pewnie tak, ale dopiero w grudniu. Rok temu można powiedzieć, że wybieraliśmy datę przylotu, a ostatecznie temat nie został sfinalizowany.
Mówiliśmy wcześniej o nowym trenerze, ale czy możemy się spodziewać także zmian w pionie sportowym? Wspomniał pan wcześniej o Arturze Płatku.
Rozmawialiśmy długo. Byłem z dyrektorem Płatkiem w kontakcie, jak od razu tu przyszedłem. To był mój drugi tydzień w Cracovii, powiedziałem jaki jest plan. Powiedziałem wtedy, że po mniej więcej roku będę potrzebował dyrektora sportowego. Dlaczego nie wcześniej? Bo musieliśmy pewne rzeczy tutaj uporządkować, wprowadzić procedury, zmienić też koncepcje funkcjonowania pewnych obszarów w klubie. Wtedy dyrektor byłby bardziej „porządkowym administracyjnym” niż typowym dyrektorem sportowym.
Z dyrektorem Płatkiem, tak mi się wydaje, byliśmy bardzo blisko porozumienia. Jestem mu mimo wszystko zobowiązany, bo rzeczy, które przygotowywał na spotkania bardzo mi pomogły, ale ostatecznie jego wybór padł na inny klub.
Rynek dyrektorów sportowych generalnie nie jest łatwy. Kibice często postrzegają dyrektora sportowego przez pryzmat wyłącznie transferów, ale bardzo ważne jest też to, co akurat dyrektor Płatek ma na bardzo wysokim poziomie – spojrzenie na piłkę analityczne, ocenę pracy trenera czy sztabu. Generalnie my w Cracovii z transferami sobie radzimy dobrze.
Dlaczego pana zdaniem dyrektor sportowy Płatek wybrał ofertę Rakowa?
Nie mogę się za kogoś wypowiadać. Dużą rolę pełni wynik sportowy. Nie ma co ukrywać – dla piłkarzy, trenerów czy dyrektorów sportowych europejskie puchary to duża rzecz. Uważam, że zrobiliśmy duży postęp na wielu płaszczyznach przez ostatnie półtora roku, ale nie przebija się to tak do mainstreamu, gdy nie ma wyniku sportowego, co jest przecież normalne. Zawsze w klubie będziemy rozliczani z wyniku.
Mamy się jednak czym chwalić – sklep zalicza rekordowe przychody, na trybunach mamy rekordową frekwencję, rekordową liczbę sponsorów, podczas meczu z Legią, co nie zdarzyło się nigdy wcześniej na nowym stadionie, sprzedaliśmy wszystkie loże. Sprzedaliśmy także prawie cztery razy więcej koszulek niż w poprzednim roku, a przychód w meczu z Legia Warszawa był rekordowy w historii klubu. To są „małe” rzeczy, które mnie osobiście cieszą, chociaż nadal najważniejszy jest wynik sportowy.
Rozumiem, że najpierw Cracovia zwiąże się z nowym trenerem, a dopiero później klub pozyska dyrektora sportowego.
Zgadza się. Zatrudnienie trenera będzie w pewnym stopniu warunkowało kompetencje dyrektora sportowego.
Wolałby pan mieć charakternego trenera czy funkcjonującego w innym trybie?
Co to znaczy „w innym trybie”?
Który będzie się w stanie dostosować do panujących warunków. Niekoniecznie lider, który wstrząśnie szatnią.
Dobrze, gdyby miał i to, i to.

Trzeba pamiętać, że Cracovia jest inaczej zarządzana. Wcześniej profesor Filipiak był najważniejszą osobą w klubie, on podejmował decyzję.
